This piece is based on a southern lawn jockey I found at the Lee House. Lawerence is over 4 ft tall and finished with oil paint and shoe polish.  He functions as a working clock while stands over the viewer gesturally checking the time but his gaze is focused outwards. The happy-go-lucky lantern jockey is now a keeper of time.
